Divine Mercy Sunday (Note & Bulletin)

As you know we had a wonderful Easter celebration from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. Many worked hard and tirelessly behind the scenes to make things unfold in a way which I hope deepened the experience of the Passion and Resurrection for everyone. From the Opening Procession from outside on Palm Sunday meant to express our joy at welcoming the Lord; to the Altar of Repose which gave us all an opportunity to deepen our intimate union with Christ; to the crosses of new life that were made by members of our community to adorn the walls of the Church, meant to be a sign of the joy and life of the resurrection – everything came together beautifully. One of the most moving parts of the Triduum for me was the communal adoration of the Cross. Together, as a community of believers, we adored the One who saves, redeems and loves us, and the One whom we love. Thank you to our choirs, musicians, Lectors, Ministers of the Eucharist, Welcomers, Altar Servers, the children and young people involved in our Good Friday morning Family Service; to those who coordinated and helped with the set up and cleanup of our Easter Bread Party; to those who care for and arrange our flowers, to everyone who donated plants and to all who worked behind the “scenes” to decorate and set up the Church. And a very special thank you to you — to everyone who joined us over these grace-filled days. It is in our community that we come to know God’s deepest blessings. I’m amazed at the energy of the parish and touched by the affection of our community. May the joy that is Easter live within each of us every day.

God Bless and Take Care,
Fr John
