Alpha for Catholics

Alpha is about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is a program of gentle evangelization. Over the course of ten weeks, Alpha provides a practical introduction to The Christian faith, offering guests an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Celebrating Sacraments

Please keep in your prayers the young people who will be celebrating the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion in April and May.

Annual Jesuit Provincial’s Dinner

The 12th Annual Jesuit Provincial’s Dinner will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at Le Parc Dining and Banquet Hall. The Dinner will honour Jesuit Jubilarians Fr Michael Kolarcik, SJ and Br Leo Mikkola, SJ who are both celebrating 50 years as Jesuits.

Final Vows

We are very happy to announce that Fr John will be pronouncing his final vows as a Jesuit on Monday, April 9th, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord. You are invited to join us for the Mass, beginning at 7:30pm, followed by a reception in the Halls.

Living the Gospel; Supporting ShareLife

Gia Lao Parish resides in the mountainous Diocese of Xuan Loc in Vietnam. Its parishioners, mostly poor, work on the hillside farms. The Pastoral Mission Fund, with the support of ShareLife, provided a one-time grant so the parish could acquire resources it could not otherwise provide.

Palm Sunday (Note & Bulletin)

As we enter Holy Week we will be confronted with the Passion of the Lord Jesus Christ. Without a doubt the Passion is the most difficult part of the Gospel to think about and accept.

Easter Greenery

Those who wish to donate Spring/Easter plants or flowers for our church décor for the Easter Season are invited to bring them to the church during the week of Monday, March 26th to Friday, March 30th. A table will be set up by the Sacristy door all week for you to place them on.

Altar of Repose

At the end of the Holy Thursday Mass the Holy Eucharist is carried in procession through the church. The church is emptied of the Blessed Sacrament which is carried and placed in an Altar of Repose.
