Holy Family (Note & Bulletin)

This Sunday’s Gospel tells us the story of the Holy Family’s visit to the temple in Jerusalem.  It says that Jesus, only 12 years of age, remained behind to speak with the scribes and the teachers in the temple.  What we see is how Jesus was so focused on God’s word, God’s teaching and God’s kingdom.  It doesn’t matter to him

Celebrating Christmas

Christmas is our celebration of the birth of Jesus. Jesus is the Word of God – God’s incarnation in the world. He is our Emmanuel, ‘God with us’ and during the Season of Christmas we celebrate the early manifestations, or ‘showings’ of Christ from his birth to the beginning of his public ministry.

4th of Advent (Note & Bulletin)

There are two things that I’m most afraid of.. snakes (don’t put one in my bed, please); snakes and holding babies. I manage to avoid snakes by living in a city, but often, at a baptism or other events, a child is put into my hands. I grew up in a small family and was the youngest and so, did not have too many opportunities to hold one.
