6th Eastern Sunday (Note & Bulletin)

In this week’s Gospel we hear the origin of a prayer we pray at every Mass. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says to his disciples “Peace I leave you; my peace I give you.” Not only do we say this at every Mass, it also concludes the Rite of Confirmation. I always find it powerful to offer another the Peace of Christ.

4th Eastern Sunday (Note & Bulletin)

One of the more confusing prayers of St Ignatius of Loyola has to do with the resurrection. Ignatius prays that the joy of the Risen Lord may become one’s own. Notice that it is not my joy but the Lord’s joy. For years I never paid much attention to Ignatius’ wording. I read it quickly and prayed for my own joy. My joy would be the gift of eternal life.

Divine Mercy Sunday (Note & Bulletin)
