Ash Wednesday

Lent begins on February 14th. The symbol of ashes is a reminder of our humanness and of the passage of time. Ashes symbolize our desire for God’s mercy and compassion. They are an expression of our sorrow for our sins and of our desire to resist temptation in the future.


Family Day

The 3rd Monday in February is a statutory holiday called Family Day. Schools will be closed, as will many offices, including our Parish Office. While it is a civic holiday it is an opportunity to reflect on the gift and importance of families.

Colouring Mama Mary

We are still accepting finished colouring artwork for our Mama Mary display. Pictures can be dropped off at our Welcome Desk after Mass or to the Parish Office during the week.


Edge Youth Ministry

Fasting and Abstinence

As Catholics we are aware of the practices of fasting and of abstinence. Fasting is about how much or how little food we take in over a period of time. Abstinence has to do with the kinds of foods we deny ourselves (e.g. meat, chocolate).


4th Ordinary Sunday (Note & Bulletin)

One Sunday when I was in Jamaica, I remember that the Altar Servers seemed nervous and distracted.  I asked them if they were ok and was told that they had had to walk past the Gunmen, and the Gunmen had had their guns in their hands.
